Mind Carlisle and Eden

Mind offer a variety of services within Cumbria including lots of information on mental health conditions and where to get help. They specifically operate MindLine which offers mental guidance and support 7 days a week.

Every Life Matters

Every Life Matters are a Cumbrian suicide prevention and suicide bereavement support charity. In summer 2020 they launched their Support After Suicide service for people in Cumbria bereaved and affected by suicide.

Restore Cumbria - Men in Sheds

Men in Sheds seeks to create a safe space for men to come together, support each other and make things.

The group has developed from a project into a community. They particularly welcome people who may be struggling with their mental health, or who are lonely and isolated.

The college provides a free programme of courses and workshops, aimed at helping people improve their wellbeing and recover from mental health issues.

First Step

First Step is part of Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust and provides free, talking therapies to adults (18+) in North Cumbria (for individuals living in South Cumbria please visit https://www.cntw.nhs.uk/services/nctalkingtherapies/  First Step can help with a range of common mental health problems including mild to moderate depression, anxiety disorders (such as chronic worry, panic attacks, health anxiety and obsessions), mild bulimia, anger or sleep problems).

Mentalk Brampton aims to give men:

  • a place to openly and confidentially discuss their experiences
  • a better understanding of common mental health difficulties
  • a means to reduce social isolation
